How Might the UFCW Spend Your Money?

Download Flyer

Unions require employees to pay dues as a condition of membership. That’s money that comes out of your pocket and goes into theirs. That money does not come back to Mud Bay.

UFCW’s national organization and the Local UFCW 3000 may spend money on things you might not expect…

The UFCW National collected $215 million dollars in dues during 2024–2025, yet they spent less than a third of that representing members.1

The other two-thirds of membership dues were spent on things like:

General

National:
$26.7 Million

Local 3000:
$889,386

Political Activities and Lobbying

National:
$8.6 Million

Local 3000:
$1.06 Million

Contributions, Gifts and Grants

National:
$1.3 Million

Local 3000:
$536,568

The UFCW 3000 also spent $400,000 last year on hotels and transportation, amusement park outings, and Uber Eats.22

Next time the UFCW tells you your dues will come back to Mud Bay or will directly support Muddies, make sure to ask them for the receipts.

We don’t believe our Muddies should have to pay dues to have someone else represent them at work. We are encouraging all eligible Muddies to vote in the upcoming UFCW election, and we hope you vote no.

Remember to VOTE September 9, 10 or 12
