When and Where to Vote

Step 1

Muddies can choose to vote on any of these days at any of the following times and locations:

The votes of all Muddies at the five stores will be counted together. The ballot box will be sealed between sessions and opened after the final voting session on Saturday has ended. The vote tally will show the total number of votes across all five stores.

The vote will be a secret ballot. No one will know how you voted unless you tell them.

At The Polls

Step 2

When you arrive at the polling room, an agent from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) will ask your name, which will be checked against the voter eligibility list. This primarily ensures each voter gets only one ballot. The NLRB agent will then hand you a secret ballot on which to vote and direct you to a designated area where you can fill out your ballot and cast your vote without anyone knowing how you voted (unless you tell them).

Step 3

Take your ballot and enter the private voting booth to make your choice. Mark an “X” in:

• The NO box if you want to maintain your current relationship with Mud Bay.
• The YES box if you want the UFCW 3000 to represent you.

Do not make any other marks on the page. This prevents your ballot from being invalidated.

Remember: Your vote is entirely private. No one will know how you voted unless you choose to tell them.

Step 4

Place your ballot in the voting box. At the end of the final voting period on Saturday, September 12, all ballots in the box will be counted by the NLRB agent.

Once the ballots are counted, if:

The majority of votes cast are “NO” or there is a tie …

• Then all Muddies will maintain their current relationship with Mud Bay.

The majority of votes cast are “YES”…

• Then all Muddies will be represented by the UFCW, regardless of if, or how, you voted.

The outcome of the election impacts everyone, so please use your voice and VOTE NO.
